When those in the sports car world dream of the “Holy Grail” a big inclusion is power to weight ratio and weight distribution. Weight distribution in a vehicle does a lot to affect the performance. This is why you see most super cars with the engine placed behind the driver, it’s what makes them go around corners.
Never, however in those circles would you hear a conversation about a pickup truck. The geometry is all wrong, a big empty bed in the back and a big heavy motor on the front. It couldn’t be done…. So we did

Featured is our 1946 Dodge WC, that rides like a Mercedes, will out-handle a Porsche, effortlessly drive you cross the country, (and has), run 10’s in the quarter mile and bust over 1G in a turn. The only thing that (sort of) beats the sound of its American V/8 is the fact that it’ll go 200 more miles to a tank than the majority of the super cars it defeats.

Truly a ride you can do 1000 mile days in. But wait, it’s a pick-up, you can bring stuff with you too..

We brought this pristine ‘46 out from undercover where it sat 35-years in the desert, pretty much the way it looks here… clean-straight-solid and rust free.

The Litl’ pickup that Mopar Collectors Guide magazine named, “The Back Room Brawler”, was taken down to a frame. When media blasted, the 75-year old frame looked NOS and the project took off!

Working from that solid foundation, Dave teamed up with friend, Bill Reilly, who happens to own RMS Suspensions. As Dave put it, “a suspension guru but cool”, Bill instantly fell in love with the truck. The two had worked together on many projects so Bill was used to Dave yet only seemed partially amused when Dave laid out the criteria.

They prepared to design and build a one-off suspension then Dave exclaimed, “let’s make it all look like the 40’s I-beam”, Bills lightbulb went off.

When the welds cooled there stood a fully boxed and gusseted frame, hand made unequal length control arms, 4- link with Pentastars laser cut in them.
